Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of pretzel rods or twists
  • 8 ounces of high-quality chocolate (dark, milk, or white chocolate)
  • Toppings (optional): chopped nuts, sprinkles, shredded coconut, crushed candies, etc.

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Pretzels

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. This will prevent the chocolate-dipped pretzels from sticking.
  2. Ensure the pretzels are clean and dry. Lay them out on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 2: Melt the Chocolate

  1. Chop the chocolate into small, even pieces. This helps it melt more evenly.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, microwave-safe, or over a double boiler, melt the chocolate. If using a microwave, heat in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each interval until fully melted.

Step 3: Dip the Pretzels

  1. Once the chocolate is smooth and melted, hold a pretzel rod by one end and dip it into the melted chocolate, covering about two-thirds of the pretzel.
  2. Allow excess chocolate to drip off. You can gently tap the pretzel against the side of the bowl to help with this.

Step 4: Add Toppings (Optional)

  1. If you want to add toppings, do so immediately after dipping each pretzel. Sprinkle the toppings over the chocolate while it’s still wet so they stick.

Step 5: Set on Baking Sheet

  1. Place the chocolate-dipped pretzels on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching each other.

Step 6: Let the Chocolate Set

  1. Allow the chocolate to set and harden. You can speed up this process by placing the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.

Step 7: Store or Serve

  1. Once the chocolate is fully set, your chocolate-dipped pretzels are ready to be enjoyed. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature.

These chocolate-dipped pretzels make for a delightful sweet and salty treat, perfect for snacking or gifting!
