Here’s a cozy and nostalgic twist on classic apple pie — Unbelievably Good Shredded Apple Pie! This recipe is easy to prep, loaded with flavor, and creates a tender, juicy filling in every bite.

🥧 Unbelievably Good Shredded Apple Pie

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Bake Time: 45–50 minutes
Total Time: ~1 hour 10 minutes
Servings: 8 slices

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 5–6 medium apples, peeled and shredded (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9-inch pie plate with the crust and flute the edges.
  2. In a large bowl, toss shredded apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Let sit for 5–10 minutes to release juices.
  3. Spoon the apple mixture evenly into the pie crust and drizzle with melted butter.
  4. Optional: Top with a lattice crust or a simple crumb topping.
  5. Bake for 45–50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly. Cover edges with foil if browning too fast.
  6. Cool slightly before serving — best enjoyed warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

✅ Tips:

  • Shredding apples makes the filling soft, moist, and extra flavorful — no big chunks!
  • Add a handful of chopped walnuts or raisins for extra texture.
  • For a firmer set, cool completely before slicing.

🧊 Storage:

  • Store covered at room temp for 1 day, or refrigerate up to 4 days.
  • Reheat slices in the oven or microwave.
