Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, finely chopped
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
- 12 oz spaghetti pasta
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
- Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, and dried basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the flavors meld together and the sauce thickens.
- While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a separate pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving about a cup of the pasta water.
- Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the turkey Bolognese sauce. Toss to coat the spaghetti evenly with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, you can add some of the reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
- Serve the Turkey Bolognese Spaghetti hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves if desired. Enjoy!
