Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Here’s a cozy, comforting classic made even easier in the Crockpot — Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak! 🍽️ Tender beef patties smothered in rich onion and mushroom gravy, perfect over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.


🥩 Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

📝 Ingredients:

For the patties:

  • 1½ lbs ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the gravy:

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)

🔥 Directions:

  1. Make patties:
    In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire, and seasonings. Shape into 6 patties.
  2. Brown (optional but recommended):
    In a skillet over medium heat, lightly brown the patties on each side (2–3 minutes). This helps them hold together and adds flavor.
  3. Layer in slow cooker:
    Place sliced onions and mushrooms in the bottom. Layer the browned patties on top.
  4. Mix gravy:
    In a bowl, whisk together mushroom soup, gravy mix, beef broth, and Worcestershire. Pour over the patties.
  5. Cook:
    Cover and cook on Low for 4–6 hours or until patties are cooked through and tender.
  6. Serve:
    Serve warm with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles. Spoon plenty of gravy over the top.

✅ Tips & Notes:

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce grease.
  • Add a splash of heavy cream for extra richness in the gravy.
  • If you don’t like mushrooms, sub in more onions or diced bell pepper.

❄️ Storage:

  • Fridge: Keeps well in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze: Freeze patties with gravy for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight and reheat gently.
