Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces of fettuccine pasta
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 8 ounces of mushrooms, sliced (such as cremini or button mushrooms)
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

How to Make Mushroom and Garlic Chicken Alfredo Pasta:

  1. Cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and golden brown on the outside. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into thin strips.
  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Cook for 5-6 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and golden brown, and the garlic is fragrant.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well to combine with the mushrooms and garlic. Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes until it starts to thicken slightly.
  6. Add the cooked fettuccine pasta and sliced chicken to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta, chicken, mushrooms, and garlic are evenly coated with the creamy sauce.
  7. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta mixture and continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the cheese is melted and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
  8. Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
  9. Serve the Mushroom and Garlic Chicken Alfredo Pasta hot, and enjoy!

Tips for Making Mushroom and Garlic Chicken Alfredo Pasta:

  • You can use any type of mushrooms you prefer or have on hand.
  • For added flavor, you can sauté some diced onions along with the garlic.
  • Adjust the amount of Parmesan cheese according to your taste preferences.
  • If you prefer a lighter sauce, you can substitute half-and-half or milk for the heavy cream, although the sauce won’t be as rich.
  • Feel free to add some crushed red pepper flakes for a bit of heat, or some freshly ground black pepper for extra flavor.
  • You can also add some chopped fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary for additional depth of flavor.
