Ingredients:
- 1 loaf of artisan French bread
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using).
- Slice the French bread horizontally, but not all the way through, leaving the bottom intact. This creates a pocket for the garlic mixture.
- Spread the garlic mixture evenly inside the sliced bread, ensuring that it reaches into all the crevices.
- Wrap the bread in aluminum foil, leaving the top exposed.
- Place the foil-wrapped bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- If you prefer a crispier crust, you can unwrap the bread during the last 5 minutes of baking and let it bake uncovered.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
