Here’s a tender, juicy recipe for Fall-Off-the-Bone Chicken — easy, flavorful, and perfect for any night of the week!

Fall-Off-the-Bone Chicken

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 2–2½ hours
Total Time: About 2½ hours
Servings: 6

Ingredients:

  • 4–6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional for extra depth of flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Season the Chicken:
    • In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.
    • Rub the chicken pieces with olive oil, then coat them evenly with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Sear the Chicken:
    • Heat a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
    • Add the chicken and sear for about 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  4. Add Broth and Butter:
    • Pour the chicken broth and soy sauce (if using) around the chicken (not directly over it).
    • Dot the butter over the top.
  5. Bake Low and Slow:
    • Cover tightly with a lid or foil and bake for 2 to 2½ hours.
    • Check at the 2-hour mark — the chicken should be incredibly tender and pull away from the bone easily.
  6. Optional Broil:
    • If you like a crispier skin, uncover the chicken and broil for 2–3 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve:
    • Spoon some of the delicious pan juices over the chicken and enjoy!

Tips:

  1. Bone-in, skin-on pieces are key for ultimate tenderness and flavor.
  2. Slow and low heat is the secret to fall-off-the-bone goodness.
  3. Great side dishes: Mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a simple rice pilaf.

How Long Does Fall-Off-the-Bone Chicken Last?

  • In the Refrigerator:
Properly stored in an airtight container, the chicken will stay fresh for up to 4 days.
  • In the Freezer:
You can freeze the cooked chicken for up to 3 months.
Be sure to wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or foil, then place it in a freezer-safe container or zip-top bag.

Can You Reheat Fall-Off-the-Bone Chicken?

✅ Yes, you can!
Here’s the best way to reheat it without drying it out:

In the Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • Place the chicken in a baking dish and add a splash of chicken broth or water to keep it moist.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until heated through.

In the Microwave:

  • Place chicken on a microwave-safe plate.
  • Cover with a damp paper towel.
  • Heat in short bursts (30–60 seconds at a time) until warm. (Be careful not to overcook, or it can dry out.)

Tip:
For best texture, the oven method is preferred, especially if you want to keep that juicy, tender feel!
