🍞 Easy Cornbread Recipe

📝 Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • Optional: 1 tbsp honey for added sweetness

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, oil, and honey if using.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir just until combined — don’t overmix.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  7. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
