Crock Pot Cube Steak

Crock Pot Cube Steak

Servings: 4–6
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 6–8 hours (on low) or 4 hours (on high)
Total Time: 6–8 hours


Ingredients:

  • 4–6 cube steaks
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • ½ cup water or beef broth
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: sliced mushrooms

Directions:

  1. Layer Ingredients:
    Place sliced onions at the bottom of the crock pot. Lay cube steaks on top.
  2. Mix Sauce:
    In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, onion soup mix, water or broth, garlic powder, and black pepper. Add mushrooms if using.
  3. Pour Over Steak:
    Pour the sauce mixture over the cube steaks, covering them evenly.
  4. Cook:
    Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for about 4 hours, until the steaks are tender and the gravy is thickened.
  5. Serve:
    Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles, spooning plenty of the creamy gravy on top.

Tips:

  • For a thicker gravy, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water and stir it into the crock pot 30 minutes before serving.
  • Add sliced bell peppers or carrots for a veggie boost.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for 3–4 days and taste even better the next day!
