Caprese Bruschetta

Ingredients:

  • French baguette or crusty Italian bread, sliced
  • Fresh ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced or diced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Balsamic glaze or reduction
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the baguette or Italian bread into thin rounds, about ½ inch thick. Place the slices on a baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle olive oil lightly over each bread slice.
  4. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until the bread slices are crispy and lightly golden brown.
  5. While the bread is toasting, prepare the toppings. Thinly slice the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  7. To assemble the bruschetta, place a slice of tomato on each toasted bread slice.
  8. Top the tomatoes with a slice or small pieces of fresh mozzarella cheese.
  9. Drizzle a little balsamic glaze or reduction over each bruschetta.
  10. Garnish each bruschetta with a fresh basil leaf.
  11. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  12. Serve the Caprese Bruschetta immediately as an appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • or an extra burst of flavor, you can brush the bread slices with minced garlic before toasting them. Additionally, you can sprinkle some freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the assembled bruschetta before serving, if desired. Enjoy your delicious Caprese Bruschetta
