Ingredients:
- French baguette or crusty Italian bread, sliced
- Fresh ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
- Fresh mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced or diced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Balsamic glaze or reduction
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the baguette or Italian bread into thin rounds, about ½ inch thick. Place the slices on a baking sheet.
- Drizzle olive oil lightly over each bread slice.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until the bread slices are crispy and lightly golden brown.
- While the bread is toasting, prepare the toppings. Thinly slice the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.
- Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- To assemble the bruschetta, place a slice of tomato on each toasted bread slice.
- Top the tomatoes with a slice or small pieces of fresh mozzarella cheese.
- Drizzle a little balsamic glaze or reduction over each bruschetta.
- Garnish each bruschetta with a fresh basil leaf.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the Caprese Bruschetta immediately as an appetizer or snack.
