📝 Ingredients

For the Batter:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Optional: ¼ cup grated cheese for extra flavor

For the Filling (mix and match meats!):

  • 1 cup cooked shredded chicken or roast pork
  • 1 cup ham, diced
  • 1 cup chouriço or salami, sliced or chopped
  • 1 cup cheese, shredded (Mozzarella or a Portuguese cheese like São Jorge)

🔥 Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or rectangular baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk eggs, then add milk, oil, salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually mix in flour and baking powder until a smooth batter forms. Stir in optional grated cheese if using.
  4. Layer half the batter in the bottom of your pan.
  5. Add an even layer of meats and cheese.
  6. Cover with the remaining batter, smoothing the top.
  7. Bake for 45–50 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool slightly before slicing and serving warm or at room temp.
