Why You’ll Love It:

Indulge in the comforting and hearty flavors of Baked Ziti, a classic dish that brings together layers of pasta, rich tomato sauce, and gooey melted cheese. This recipe is a crowd-pleaser, perfect for family dinners or gatherings with friends.

What You’ll Need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

How to Make Baked Ziti:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ziti with the meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the ziti mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Can You Make Baked Ziti Ahead of Time?
