Cheese and Garlic Crack Bread, also known as Pull-Apart Bread, is a show-stopping appetizer made with crusty bread stuffed with melted cheese, butter, and garlic — crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Perfect for parties or cozy nights in!

🧄🧀 Cheese and Garlic Crack Bread

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15–20 minutes
Total Time: ~30 minutes
Servings: 6–8

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 round or oval crusty sourdough loaf (or any firm, dense bread)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (or a mix)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)
  • Optional: ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes for a little heat
  • Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Place the loaf on a cutting board. Use a serrated knife to cut the bread into 1-inch diamonds or squares, being careful not to cut all the way through the bottom.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic, parsley, and optional red pepper flakes.
  4. Carefully open the cuts in the bread and drizzle the garlic butter mixture deep into the cracks. Stuff shredded cheese into the crevices evenly.
  5. Wrap the loaf in foil and bake for 15 minutes. Unwrap and bake an additional 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the top is golden and crisp.

✅ Tips:

  • Best served fresh out of the oven while gooey and hot!
  • Add cooked bacon, green onions, or sun-dried tomatoes for a flavor upgrade.
  • Try with different cheeses like Gruyère, Monterey Jack, or Fontina.

🧊 Storage:

  • Store leftovers in foil and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven to crisp up again — microwave not recommended for texture.
