🥬🧀 Spinach and Ricotta Rolls – Oven or Air Fryer!

Flaky golden puff pastry filled with creamy ricotta, spinach, and Parmesan, baked to perfection in the oven or air fryer! Easy, delicious, and perfect as an appetizer, snack, or light meal!


🛒 Ingredients (Makes 12-16 Rolls)

  • 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup fresh spinach (chopped & lightly sautéed)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 egg (for the filling)
  • 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (for garnish, optional)

🔪 Directions

Oven Method:

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Make the filling:

  • In a bowl, mix ricotta, spinach, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

3️⃣ Assemble the rolls:

  • Roll out puff pastry sheets and cut them into two long strips each.
  • Spread the spinach-ricotta filling along one edge of each strip.
  • Roll tightly into a log shape and cut into 4-6 smaller rolls per strip.

4️⃣ Brush & bake:

  • Place rolls on the baking sheet, seam-side down.
  • Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown & crispy.

Air Fryer Method:

1️⃣ Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C).

2️⃣ Follow steps 2-3 above to prepare the rolls.

3️⃣ Air fry in batches:

  • Place rolls in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  • Air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time (Oven): 20-25 minutes
  • Cook Time (Air Fryer): 10-12 minutes
  • Total Time: 30-35 minutes
  • Servings: 12-16 rolls
