Here’s a classic Homemade Funnel Cake Recipe β€” crispy, golden, and dusted with powdered sugar just like the ones at county fairs or carnivals! 🎑🍩

πŸŽͺ Homemade Funnel Cake

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 6 small cakes

πŸ“ Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ΒΌ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1Β½ cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ Instructions:

  1. Mix dry ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Mix wet ingredients:
In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add milk and vanilla. Gradually whisk in the dry ingredients until smooth. The batter should be pourable β€” like pancake batter. Add more milk if needed.
  3. Heat oil:
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  4. Fry funnel cakes:
Pour batter into a funnel or squeeze bottle (or use a piping bag with a wide tip). Hold it over the hot oil and drizzle in a circular, crisscross pattern. Fry for 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  5. Drain and dust:
Remove with tongs and drain on paper towels. Dust generously with powdered sugar while still warm.

βœ… Tips:

  • Add cinnamon to the powdered sugar for extra flavor.
  • Try topping with fruit, chocolate sauce, or whipped cream.
  • Make mini funnel cakes for easier serving at parties!
