Here’s a hearty and family-friendly Sloppy Joe Casserole Recipe — all the bold, saucy flavor of classic Sloppy Joes baked with a cheesy, comforting twist!

🍽️ Sloppy Joe Casserole

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 25–30 minutes
Total Time: ~45 minutes
Servings: 6–8

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped green bell pepper (optional)
  • 1 can (15 oz) sloppy joe sauce (like Manwich)
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated biscuits or crescent rolls
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce for extra flavor

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13″ casserole dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and bell pepper until meat is browned and vegetables are soft. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in sloppy joe sauce (and Worcestershire or hot sauce if using). Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Pour mixture into the casserole dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup of cheese.
  5. Top with biscuit dough or crescent roll pieces (cut to fit evenly), then sprinkle remaining cheese over the top.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until biscuits are golden and cooked through.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

✅ Tips:

  • Swap ground beef with ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter option.
  • Add corn or black beans for extra texture.
  • Use tater tots or mashed potatoes instead of biscuits for a fun twist!

🧊 Storing & Freezing:

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.
  • Freeze unbaked casserole for up to 2 months. Thaw in fridge before baking.
