🍳 EGG CASSEROLE (EGG BAKE) RECIPE

This Egg Casserole (aka Egg Bake) is a simple and satisfying make-ahead breakfast that’s perfect for feeding a crowd. Customize it with your favorite veggies, meats, or cheeses!


⏱ Prep Time: 15 minutes

🕒 Cook Time: 40–45 minutes

🍽 Servings: 8


📝 Ingredients:

  • 10 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked sausage, crumbled (or cooked bacon/ham)
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers (any color)
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional: 2 cups frozen hash browns (thawed), fresh spinach, or diced tomatoes

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Stir in cheese, sausage, bell peppers, onion, and any optional add-ins.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the center is set and a knife comes out clean.
  6. Let it cool slightly, then slice and serve.

✅ Tips:

  • Make it ahead: Assemble the night before and bake in the morning.
  • Dairy-free? Use plant milk and skip the cheese.
  • Vegetarian version: Leave out the meat or replace it with sautéed mushrooms.

🧊 Storage:

  • Refrigerate leftovers for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze individual portions for up to 2 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
