🍯 Sweet and Moist Honey Cornbread

Here’s a delicious and easy Sweet and Moist Honey Cornbread recipe — golden, tender, and just the right amount of sweetness! Perfect alongside chili, BBQ, soups, or as a cozy snack with butter.


🍯 Sweet and Moist Honey Cornbread

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25–30 minutes
Total Time: ~40 minutes
Servings: 9 squares (or 12 muffins)


📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line with parchment.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, honey, eggs, and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir just until combined — don’t overmix.
  5. Pour batter into prepared dish and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm with extra butter or a drizzle of honey.

✅ Tips:

  • For extra moisture, replace half the milk with buttermilk or add ¼ cup sour cream.
  • Want muffins? Divide batter into a 12-cup muffin tin and bake for 15–18 minutes.
  • Add-ins like corn kernels, cheddar cheese, or jalapeños take it to the next level!

  • Store in an airtight container at room temp for 2 days, or refrigerate up to 5 days.
  • Freeze individual slices for up to 2 months.
