🍫 Peanut Butter Marshmallow Squares

Here’s a classic and nostalgic treat: Peanut Butter Marshmallow Squares! Sometimes called “Butterscotch Confetti,” these no-bake bars are sweet, chewy, and super simple to make.


🍫 Peanut Butter Marshmallow Squares

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Chill Time: 1–2 hours
Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Servings: About 24 squares


📝 Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 (11 oz) bag butterscotch chips (about 1¾ cups)
  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows (about 5 cups)
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Pinch of salt

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Line a pan: Use an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch square pan. Line with parchment paper or lightly grease.
  2. Melt base: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, peanut butter, and butterscotch chips together. Stir constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool for about 5 minutes (important so the marshmallows don’t melt).
  3. Add marshmallows: Gently fold in the mini marshmallows until evenly coated.
  4. Press & chill: Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and press down gently with a spatula. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
  5. Slice & serve: Cut into squares and enjoy!

❄️ Storage Tips:

  • Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • Freezer: Freeze squares between layers of parchment paper in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge before serving.

🧊 Refrigerator Storage:

  • Wrap tightly with plastic wrap or store in an airtight container.
  • Separate layers with parchment or wax paper to prevent sticking.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 1 week — this helps them stay firm.

❄️ Freezer Storage:

  • These bars freeze very well!
  • Place squares in a freezer-safe container, using parchment paper between layers.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months.
  • To serve, thaw in the fridge for a few hours or at room temperature for 15–30 minutes.

📝 Quick Tip:

If you prefer a softer texture, let the bars sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before eating.
