Here’s a rich and comforting Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding recipe — the perfect way to use up ripe bananas and leftover bread. This dessert is warm, gooey, and full of chocolaty banana goodness!

🍫 Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 40–45 minutes
Total Time: ~1 hour
Servings: 6–8

📝 Ingredients:

  • 4 cups day-old bread, cubed (brioche or challah works great)
  • 2 medium ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 cups milk (or any non-dairy milk)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
  • Optional: extra banana slices or chopped nuts on top

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together milk, cream, mashed bananas, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the bread cubes and gently stir to coat. Let it sit for 10 minutes so the bread soaks up the custard.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips and pour mixture into the baking dish. Top with banana slices or nuts if desired.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  6. Let cool slightly. Serve warm on its own or with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream!

✅ Tips:

  • Use overripe bananas for more flavor.
  • Add a splash of bourbon or espresso for an adult twist.
  • For a crispier top, sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking.
